
Irving Langer, President and CEO
Irving Langer, president and founder of Rainbow Capital USA, learned the essentials of buying and selling residential multi-family properties as an employee at Public Realty in Brooklyn. At Public, Mr. Langer quickly discovered his ability for identifying and purchasing investment properties.
After establishing Rainbow in 1971, Mr. Langer's management abilities coupled with his consistent record of generating significant returns on his properties attracted the attention of several large financial institutions, as well as established leaders of the New York real estate community, and city agency officials. Through these relationships, Mr. Langer's opportunities for major growth in the real estate market continued to grow until he had accumulated a considerable portfolio of properties in New York, New Jersey, and Western Long Island.
Mr. Langer holds a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Long Island University, and a state certification in guidance counseling. Along with his significant success in the real estate industry, Mr. Langer has never forgotten his commitment to social advancement.
Through his private foundation, The Irving Langer Charitable Trust, Mr. Langer devotes time and financial resources to numerous educational institutions and social service organizations. Mr. Langer currently sits on the executive board of several notable nonprofit organizations, including Ohel Family Services and Mesivta Tiferes Yisroel, and has received national recognition for his philanthropic activities.
Leibel Lederman, CFO
Before joining Rainbow Capital USA as its CFO, Leibel Lederman already owned and managed a sizeable portfolio of residential properties throughout New York City. He is still acknowledged as an early pioneer of the strong co-op market that characterized New York City real estate during the 1970s.
Mr. Lederman's first exposure to the real estate industry came in 1973 as a managing agent for a boutique real estate firm in Greenpoint. Mr. Lederman soon learned the intricacies and risks of residential apartment investing.
Between 1976 and 1985, Mr. Lederman and several partners purchased over 65 buildings in Brooklyn, Bronx, and Manhattan, totaling 4,000 units. From 1985 to 1989, Mr. Lederman purchased shopping centers and office complexes throughout Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
Considered one of New York City's most prolific middle-income multi-family property owners, and with his aptitude for financial analysis and legal acumen highly regarded throughout the industry, Mr. Lederman joined Rainbow in 1994.
Mr. Lederman focuses on purchase analysis, internal transactions, and tracking the minutiae of each project undertaken by Rainbow. The considerable skills Mr. Lederman brings to each purchase includes arranging financing or negotiating transaction terms. Since joining Rainbow, Mr. Lederman has significantly increased the size of Rainbow's portfolio and substantially enriched its diversity of holdings.
Aryeh Z. Ginzberg, Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Asset Management
Aryeh Z. Ginzberg, the Senior Vice President of Rainbow Capital USA, has over 20 years of experience in the New York real estate industry. In the 1980s, Mr. Ginzberg served as president of AZCO Construction, a firm specializing in renovating co-ops and multi-family properties within and adjacent to New York City.
During this period, Mr. Ginzberg assumed management responsibility for Brooklyn's largest privately owned residential project: a complex consisting of 60 buildings, totaling 2,500 units. Mr. Ginzberg oversaw the project's $2 million capital improvement campaign, and served as chief liaison for issues relating to HUD, HPD, and other housing regulatory agencies.
During the real estate market crisis of the late 1980s, Freddie Mac foreclosed on hundreds of distressed properties throughout New York City. Mr. Ginzberg was appointed by Freddie Mac to manage many of these distressed properties, and at one point was personally responsible for managing over 150 properties within New York City's five boroughs.
Upon joining Rainbow Capital USA in the early 1990s, Mr. Ginzberg transferred his considerable financial institution and city agency contacts to Rainbow. This new exposure gave Rainbow an opportunity to significantly increase the size and composition of its portfolio. Mr. Ginzberg frequently serves as Rainbow's on-site liaison at newly acquired properties to actualize Rainbow's property management strategy.
Jonathan Schenker, Vice President for Acquisitions and Asset Management
Jonathan Schenker recently joined Rainbow Capital USA from the Office of the New York City Comptroller's Bureau of Asset Management, where he served as Special Assistant to the First Deputy Comptroller/Investment Officer. There, his immediate responsibilities included overseeing the performance of municipal real estate portfolios, reporting on the investment activities of city investment partners, and identifying, evaluating, and executing investments.
He also served as special liaison between the First Deputy Comptroller/Chief Investment Officer and the heads of public equities, fixed income investing, private markets, real estate, and operations. Additionally, Mr. Schenker served the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development as an asset control manager, building analyst, and staff analyst.
As Vice President for Acquisitions and Asset Management for Rainbow Capital USA, Mr. Schenker will represent the firm in all efforts to evaluate, initiate contact, and attract institutional investors and private placement investment.
Working in unison with the principals of Rainbow, Mr. Schenker identifies, structures, and presents key investment opportunities to the general investment community. Mr. Schenker also structures joint partnership agreements with private placement candidates seeking to maximize returns from property development and management contracts through Rainbow Capital USA.
Meyer Brecher, Director of Property Management Services
Meyer Brecher, the Director of Property Management Services for Rainbow Capital USA, joined the firm in 1992. Aside from owning a controlling interest in a luxury goods manufacturing outfit, Mr. Brecher had been an active participant in New York City's active co-op conversion market throughout much of the 1980s.
Mr. Brecher holds a Masters of Science in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from New York University. He is responsible for all building management operations, maintenance services, rehabilitation, construction and repairs for Rainbow properties in New York, New Jersey, and Nassau County.
Mr. Brecher also supervises Rainbow's team of building managers and tradesman (which include plumbers, electricians, painters, and general contractors) and oversees all major purchases of building material. By successfully negotiating volume prices, verifying the quality of materials, and holding effective inventory tracking systems in place, Mr. Brecher consistently maintains low cost-to-quantity ratios for all major and incremental building supply purchases.
Mr. Brecher is instrumental to Rainbow's success in rehabilitating distressed properties ahead of schedule and under budget. Most recently he leveraged these skills during the complete gutting and rebuilding of a Rainbow-owned building complex in Brooklyn that is now leased to the New York City Department of Homeless Services.
Jechol Evans, Senior Property Manager
Jechol Evans joined Rainbow Capital USA in 1985 as a property manager. Mr. Evans' current responsibilities include serving as landlord liaison to tenants and landlord representative in court proceedings. He is responsible to maintain close oversight of all building systems within a significant percentage of Rainbow's total holdings, including heating, electrical and plumbing, and roof and foundation integrity.
Mr. Evans serves as point person for all property repairs and is responsible for delegating tasks to contractors and building maintenance vendors. He also oversees building sanitation systems to uphold Rainbow's high standards of property hygiene.
Through scheduled inspections of Rainbow holdings, Mr. Evans keeps properties free of violations, expedites the removal of any violations, completes applications for Section-8 and DHCR tenants, and oversees rent collections.
Within the past two decades, Mr. Evans has developed comprehensive experience in all aspects of property management and is a valuable asset to sustaining the effectiveness of Rainbow's successful management model.
