Corporate Overview

Rainbow Capital USA is a real estate development and management firm headquartered in Brooklyn, N.Y. founded by Irving Langer in 1971. The firm owns and manages over 3,000 residential units in New York City, New Jersey and Nassau County, and maintains strong relationships with financial institutions, building and trade unions, tenant groups, and local, state and national housing regulatory bodies (HPD, DHCR, HUD).

Rainbow's urban portfolio consists of government subsidized (HUD), rent stabilized and regular multi-family, garden apartment, co-op, and development properties. Rainbow's proprietary computer and on-site tracking systems effectively control costs and sustain positive labor relations, making Rainbow a sought-after specialist in rehabilitating distressed properties.

Rainbow's preeminence in the low-income residential property market is balanced by its diverse involvement within the greater real estate industry. This includes the development of luxury condominiums and co-ops in Brooklyn, Queens and Rockland County; a recent partnership with the NYC Department of Homeless Services agency to develop several properties currently leased by the City to house several hundred homeless families, and plans for purchasing and maintaining a luxury hotel in New York and the Tri-State area.

A recent Rainbow acquisition, a 917-unit beachfront complex originally built as a Mitchell-Lama senior citizens housing development, is in the process of being converted into a luxury middle-income project, and is expected to arrive on the market within the next 24 months.
